I finally finished something! Working full time is definitely taking time away from my knitting. I did manage to finish my Ocean Medley socks tonight. They're a little tight, but I think they'll stretch. Next time I would definitley use size 1 needles. The 0's are just too small for me! Well it's past my bedtime (I have been going to bed at 8:30 everynight. Argh.. Maybe I should drink some coffee and try to stay up because I have to work until 11 pm tomorrow!! Write more later!

Taking out and Starting new....
I ended up taking out Grace because I thought it was too loose. I plan on restarting on smaller needles in the future. I decided to start a different Cabled Cardi... Paton's Must Have Cardigan! Here's my progress so far...
I'm using Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran #604. I ended up ordering more from Knitwerx because I decided to do the large instead of the small. I wanted it to be roomy, so I could wear shirts under it. I'm using Nathania's modifications. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I have also been working on my sock...
I can't wait to wear them! :)
I received my Knit Picks order the other day... the yarn is so yummy!
Here's the yarn I got to make the Backyard Leaves scarf in the Scarf Style book...
It's Andean Silk in Lettuce. It's so soft and pretty! I also got some cute sock yarn...
It's Sock Garden in Star Gazer Lily and Hydrangea. Also very soft and pretty, can't wait to make some socks with these!
I'm just hoping I don't get sick. Bradley (my 4 year old) and my mom have been throwing up the last couple of days. I've been washing my hands like crazy! I start full time on Saturday and the last thing I need is to get sick! I really wanted to talk to my manager about my pay before I left, but I chickened out. I'm no good at talking to him about things like that. Hopefully there will be nothing to talk about and he'll just give me a raise without me having to say anything... we'll see! Well, not much else... bradley's bugging me to get his pants! :)

Started over...
I started my Supersocks again using a different pattern (p1, k3). I like them much better!!
I also couldn't resist casting on for Grace...
ooh.. here's an artsy close up ...
I think I'm definitely going to like working on grace... the cotton-ease isn't bad! The price definitely isn't bad, at least a 1/3 of what the cotton angora would've been! Well, I survived working 34 hours this week. I haven't fallen apart...yet! Jakey has survived and so has Bradley. I think we are going to be just fine with me working full time again. :) That's all for now, write more later....

Mariah...
I've been working on Mariah some lately...
I was able to get some good light to take this picture. I now know the trick to taking a picture without the flash is to have the camera resting on something.
Well, I've just made a big decision the other day. I've decided to start working full time again. It's been about 5 years since I've done so. It will mean working about 10-15 more hours a week more than I have been. I will just have to take it one day at a time, I think it will be a good thing though. We could really use the money... gotta pay off that big screen! LOL! :) Well, not much else. Jake seems to be waking up from his nap. Write more later!

My hubby got a big screen, so I got....
Yarn, of course! After my dh got a big screen I stopped at Joann's and got some bubble gum cotton-ease to knit ChicKnit's Sitcom Chic Cardi. The yarn is just so yummy! I think it will be a good spring project for March or April....
When I got home I ordered a couple other things... 9 more skiens of cotton-ease in the strawberry cream for Debbie Bliss's Grace. I saw MJ's done in cotton-ease on her Yummy Yarn Blog and fell in love!! And Lastly (is that a word?) I ordered the Paton's Street Smart pattern to make the Must Have Cardigan. There is a new knit-along and I can never resist a knit-along! And I got some Cashmerino Aran in #604 from KnitWerx to knit it with. It was on sale for around $5 a skien, so of course I couldn't pass that up! Hopefully it will look ok!! I knew after seeing Nathania's done in the Cashmerino that I also had to use it! It's just so pretty! Her color is a little darker than what I'm getting. So now I just wait for all my goodies!! :) I think I should definitely have enough yarn to last the rest of the year!! :) I know I keep saying this, but I am now definitely on a yarn diet!!
I was thinking of doing Mariah in a different yarn. I tried Highland Wool in Claret....
and I also thought about the peace fleece I just got...
But I think I'll just stick to what I was using... the stitch definition isn't as crisp as I would like, but the yarn is so soft! I think it will be a really cozy sweater once it's done.
Ok, I know this is long and I'm blabbering, but I never get much quiet time and I'm taking advantage of it! I have once last thing to share....
My mom made me a Debbie Bliss Drawstring bag from the Knit Happens Winter 04 newsletter (pdf file). It turned out so cute! She used some Baby Cashmerino that I got her for Christmas. She did the bottom a little differently than the pattern. Here's some pics....
Well, that is definitely all for tonight! My back is hurting!! :) Write more in a couple days!

I took it out...
I just knew I wouldn't be happy with it. I definitely like the fluted banister pattern though... I think I'd like to try it again sometime with a more solid yarn. Well, that's all for now!

More Fluted Banister Sock....
I'm just not sure if I like this sock done in this pattern. I have a feeling I'd like it more without the texture. I'd hate to rip out after all the work I've done though!
I really like the part where it's plain St st around the heel...
Hmm... what to do? What to do?? :) Maybe I'll sleep on it before I make any rash decisions!

New yarn and some mud!
I went to Knitting Emporium today in Kennesaw and got some new sock yarn. Mountain Colors Weavers Wool Quarters in "Thunderhead," and Cherry Tree Hill Supersock in "Earth."
I also got some size 1 dp needles and some Cascade 220 for my mom to make some Felted potholders from the Last Minute Knitted Gifts book.
I started the Fluted Banister socks today using the Supersock yarn...
This is a really fun sock so far! I cast on 60 using the size 1 needles I got.
Ok for the mud part. As I was leaving the yarn shop my truck got stuck in the mud. I mean really stuck! Thankfully my husband wasn't too far away and a nearby tow truck drived owed him a favor. I was so embarrased! I know to park across the street from now on if the parking lot in back is full!! Well, better go Jake is throwing a tantrum!!
