Lavender and Lace Kick

I've been on a Lavender & Lace kick lately. Rediscovering all the old patterns. L&L is what really got me started stitching. After I stitched Angel of Autumn I was absolutely hooked - no turning back! I have always wanted to stitch Angel of Spring, and after seeing Anniebeez's start, I decided to kit it up. Unfortunately I didn't have any fabric big enough. I really like Misty Blue Belast, so I ordered some from Handcrafts Online (no hurry MK). :) Here's a picture of some of the threads on a small piece I had.

I think it's going to look pretty. I also decided to kit Dance of the Roses. I love the colors in this one. I was thinking of using the Vintage Navy Bean that I got last week.

Sorry about the whiny posts lately! I think I'm finally coming out of the doldrums. My air is working again and that has definitely helped! I've been taking Zicam every four hours to help with the cold and I think that is helping too! Well, not much else going on - I did stitch a little last night, but not really enough to show a pic. Hopefully I'll get more done tonight! Write later! :)

  1. Nicole,

Glad that you're feeling better. Your new projects are going to be really pretty. Did you ever finish your Pomegranate Sampler? I loved that one!

  2. Well I certainly have to agree that there is nothing like L&L....MLI, makes beautiful peices of art. My favorite is Nantucket Rose, and I have it kitted and about 200 stitches in her....I'm hoping at the beginning of the year, I can slow way down on exchanging and start way up on doing my own XS stuff :)

  3. Nicole-so glad you are feeling better! I am on an L&L kick too!(but you started it with your QAL!!) I have Nantucket Rose as well, and I was just looking at Dance of the Roses the other day. Yellow is one of my favorite colors and I just love how pretty that design is. Maybe we'll have to SAL on that one too? hehe! Would love to see a pic of your Angel of Autumn.

  4. I have have stitched just 3 of MLI's pieces - Angel of Mercy, Children's Garden, and Provence Sampler (the latter two are both Butternut Rose, rather than L&L), and I loved working on each of them.

I've recently fallen in love with Nantucket Rose, and I think after looking at it again (thanks, Vonna!) I may have to add this one to my stash. I have QAL somewhere; I may have to dig that one out, too!

  7. Those floss tosses look great, looking forward to seeing some WIP pictures. A L&L design was the first "big" project I ever did, and finished (Celtic Noel) and I have quite a few others started, but they suffered from my extended hiatus.

  10. Isn't it fun to play with patterns, fabric and fiber before you get the pattern started? I always enjoy it, well except for the part where my dmc threads are in a half dozen different places and I can never locate what I need! :-) I think you've picked out great fabrics for both.
