We got to San Francisco yesterday and walked around - had some great seafood at Fisherman's Wharf. Then went back to our room and crashed. Today we took a tour of the city. It was a lot of fun. I finally got to see and go over the Golden Gate bridge. I've been to SF twice before, but never got to see it, so that was exciting for me.
I realized the seals are gone from Fisherman's Wharf. I'll have to find out what happened to them.
We made it to Modesto today around 4 pm. We made great time. I was so glad we got to leave early enough to beat the traffic. We went to the shop (Elegant Stitch) around 6 and stayed for a little bit. Now we're back in our room, enjoying the free wifi! :) Here's a link to some pictures I've taken.

Welcome to California! I am in Turlock, which is the next town over.
ReplyDeleteIf you get a chance, and need a nice drive out of the valley, drive McHenry Ave North to highway 120, then east (right) on 120 to 108 to Sonora. It is a cute little town in the foothills and has a great yarn store.
If you need anything in this area, please email me earthravin at sbcglobal dot net.
Looks like you're already having a lovely time. That is somewhere I'd like to visit.
ReplyDeleteThat graveyard looks very old. I bet that's a bit spooky at night!
I wonder what happened to the seals? My brother lives in a city near SF and they were just there at FW and they were there? Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a SPLENDID time! Sounds like fun, I've never been west...so I'd really like to go sometime!
San Francisco is the first place I ever visited in the US, and is where I met my husband (3 days after I arrived there). I haven't been back since - it's been 20 years now. I'd love to go back! Have a great time at your class!
ReplyDeleteHey Nicole - I am Bay Area born and raised - so fun to see your pics! I envy you Elegant Stitch, though - tell all about it! That Halle is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteSafe travels to you,
Ginger
Hi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteI'm not to far from S.F. Did you look at pier 39 for the seals? That is where they usually hang out.
I hope you enjoy your stay here in the Bay Area. We are supposed to be getting some warm weather this coming week.
