I also finished up my Flip-it Banner finally! It only took just under two years! I'm so glad it's done. I'm thinking of donating it to my son's kindergarten class because they are learning the months of the year. I would have to make it into a wall hanging of some sort though. That would require sewing - yikes! Maybe I'll think about this for a little bit. :)
Lizzie Kate "Monthly Flip-It Bits"
Fabric: 29 ct. Natural Glenshee
Threads: DMC, WDW, & GAST
Started: 1/25/07 - Finished: 12/6/08
I got "Peppermint Lane" out this morning and got back to stitching it. I'm not getting too much done right now though. Dh went golfing, so it's me and the kids and the laundry! After I finish PL, I would like to stitch up Paulette's pretty freebie she posted on her blog. I pulled the threads and fabric for it yesterday...
Well, that's all for now. I've got to get back to the laundry! Write soon! :)
P.S. Thank you all for your kind comments on my framing. I pin mount when I frame my pieces (here is an article by Theresa Vinette - Scroll down "To Stretch" that is exactly how I frame). The lace on the distressed frame came like that. It's an old one from Hog River.

Hi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteYour flatfold is beautiful! Vonna is awesome so I'm sure her tutorials are awesome too. Way to go on that finish. Your flip it finale is super - love those designs. I might have to put them on my 2009 wish list.
Tanya
Congratulations on both your finishes~~ They are both beautiful~
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the tutorial on stretching & framing. Very interesting...
ReplyDeleteYour flatfold is adorable - I love it. I've never tried a flatfold finish myself.
ReplyDeleteYour flip it is really cute, too. Good luck on finishing it!
beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteFor someone who doesn't like finishing, you're doing a great job. :) What a terrific idea about donating the Flip-it Banner to your son's kindergarten. You're so thoughtful. Looking forward to your progress on PL.
ReplyDeleteThere are both adorable. Thanks a lot for the link to Vonna's blog; I'm going to have a look at it, it seems very interesting.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing your flip-it's, they're lovely as is your flat fold.
ReplyDeleteThe flatfold is just stunning!
ReplyDeleteI came here first time now and saw all those lovely things you've stitched. I love L*K's "Christmas is Forever", I have it but haven't had time to stitch it yet. I also love those flip-it months and I think it's a great idea to donate it to the kindergarten, very nice thing to do. And you are starting Peppermint Lane? One of my favourites too. :)
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job on finishing your flatfold!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your flip it piece!! Sooo pretty and what a nice idea to give to the school!
Your flatfold looks wonderful, as does the flip it banner.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely finish Nicole, and think your framing of your SB's is just gorgeous. Been a while since I popped in here, I am glad I did.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Nicole.
You're getting to grips with this finishing now. Beautiful flatfold.
ReplyDeleteChristmas is Forever turned out great!! I so have to try this type of finish in 2009.
ReplyDeleteYour flat fold look brilliant - well done!! I agree that Paulettes freebie is a reall pretty one too.
