I must say first off - I love my new magnifying light. I don't know what I have done all these years without it! I have been stitching on 40 ct. like it's 32. This is the best present to myself ever! :) Anyway, enough about that. I have been stitching "Christmas Tea" by Plum Street Samplers. I'm really enjoying it! I just have to finish the lettering and some snowflakes and I'll be done. It's taken much less time then I thought it would. I think it's mainly because of the light! :)
I decided to take Carol's advice about pulling a thread for a guide while sewing. So I got out my Stacy Nash Pillow to experiment on. I think it turned out pretty cute. It's not perfect, but it's better, which is progress for me.
This is looking great! I have recently become acquainted with Plum Street and it's really becoming a new fav... Can't wait to see this finished! Oh, what kind of light did you get again?
ReplyDeleteYou always stitch the cutest things...and I always have to add them to my list!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love your PSS design~~so sweet! And your Stacy Nash pillow looks wonderful, I love it too :)
I am so glad you are loving your new light. I never even tried stitcohing on linen until I got mine! I would be lost without it!! Your projects are really pretty! I need to learn to do the finishing too. It isn't that easy for me either. That is why I have never gotten into the exchanges.
ReplyDeleteThe Plum Street design is very pretty, I don't think I have seen this one before. Your pillow is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your sewing, it's never as bad as what you think. If you throw the sewing around the room, it often makes you feel better!
Wow! I haven't seen this Plum Street Design. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteand Congrats on your Stacy Nash Pillow finish! It's so pretty:)
I love the design of the Plum Street piece!! It is so beautiful~
ReplyDeleteYour pillow finish is perfect!! I love it!!!
great progress on plum street design, i haven't seen that one yet. Your pillow turned out great!!!! I'm thinking i may need one of those lights, then i wouldn't need to get bifocals or readers, hmmmmmmmmmmm
ReplyDeleteYour pillow turned out great! I've always found that stuffing the life out of my pillows really helps. I make sure to roll a blob of polyfill to shove in each corner, which helps them look more triangular. Then just when I think I've stuffed enough, I add a couple more handfuls.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pillow! I've yet to stitch a Stacey Nash design, but I'm planning on it some day. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thrilled that you like Christmas Tea. My mom and I have made the Cranberry Tea recipe for years.
Btw, you'll have to let me know if you like digital scrapbooking.. I've been curious for a while, but haven't taken the plunge yet!

ReplyDeleteI will have to use that advice. I start out staright but then 3/4 of the way around it's crooked.

Also, what will the finished size be? I loved this chart for the sweet saying, very Christmasy!
