I got out QV yesterday and worked on it some. I put it away though because I'm just not sure about the colors.
I got out Quaker Christmas and worked on that some because I know I love these colors...
My problem is not seeing it completely stitched in the colors I picked out. I'm such a copier that I usually go with colors that is recommended by the designer or that I have seen someone else use, which is what I did with Quaker Christmas. I copied Merumo's colors. Anyway, I may just work on Quaker Christmas for the SAL (hope that's ok girls) and try to get it finished up and think about Quaker Virtues later. That's so Scarlet O'Hara of me I know! She was the queen of justification and worrying about it another day! :) Write soon!
BOTH are lovely Nicole... I LOVE the threads on QV, I think they're wonderful, honestly I do. I feel in love with Quaker Christmas when you had it here last month... bring them both on Saturday! I know QV looks just as lovely in person as QC did!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole,
ReplyDeleteI justify using the designer's exact colors because I feel that if those are the colors that attracted the design to me in the first place, then they are what will make me happy with the finished project. Your work is just beautiful!
Nicole, I love both too! I think the QV colors are wonderful! But it's important for you to be happy with it. Otherwise you won't finish it. I tend to go for the same colors as the designer as well but on pieces like this, it's fun to experiment -- as long as you find what you like! Anyway, gorgeous work! I love both these pieces!
ReplyDeletei love the QV colors! Of course I am a big fan of red and green! I will love watching both pieces progress!
ReplyDeleteBoth are gorgeous, Nicole!
ReplyDeleteI too like QV and the colors that you chose. The only thing though is that if YOU don't like them, it makes it hard to want to stitch on it so I would find something else if you just really don't like how they look. I am like you too in that I either use what is called for or if I see someone's that I like I usually get the same. Your work is gorgeous though!
ReplyDeleteNicole, you are second guessing yourself again. I think your choices are gorgeous and you have a great eye for color.
ReplyDeletehugs
Debs
I LOVE your QV colors! Both pieces are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love both of them :)
ReplyDeleteThey are marvelous!!
I think the colors are great! Wonderful progress on both pieces!
ReplyDeleteI think the colors are great! Wonderful progress on both pieces!
ReplyDeleteHonestly...I think your QV color choices, now that you've gotten more done and we can see what it really is going to be like...I think it is stunning. I really honestly feel that way. Now as far as your QC, what are the colors, because seeing you stitch with them....is making me want to get that too!
ReplyDeleteI love the QV colors, especially the green. I do think you need to also love them, in order to enjoy stitching the piece. Great progress. You are a stitching maniac!
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I love your color choises! I think it looks wonderful and I just want to eat it! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIs there room for more people in the SAL? It might get me motivated on working on Quaker Christmas again. I haven't touched it in weeks and would really love to get it done before next Christmas. So if there is room for another stitcher, let me know, I would love to join you guys :)
just perfect:) lovely colors and progress, enjoy stitching
ReplyDeleteBoth pieces look gorgeous! Like the others have said, I love your QV choices, they look really good together!
ReplyDeleteI think they both look great and the colors are nice choices.
ReplyDeleteI think they look beautiful Nicole!
ReplyDeleteNicole, I think both are wonderful! But, as Margaret said, it's important for you to be happy with it. I've learned from experience that if you're questioning your choices now, stop. Otherwise you'll do what I usually do, keep going till I can't NOT finish but not like it the whole way through.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am drooling...both pieces are looking just lovely :)
ReplyDeleteI must say I agree... with everyone else! Your colours on QV are beautiful. They look great togeterher. But, as others have said, you are the one who has to love it.
ReplyDeleteI like both of them~~ It's amazing how different tones of reds give you different kind of feel~
ReplyDeleteThose colors are gorgeous, Nicole! Great progress!
ReplyDeleteI have loved your QV colors since you first stitched a little practice swatch sometime ago. I even wrote them down so that I could remember what they were in case I decided to stitch this someday (I am a copier too. :) ).
ReplyDeleteBut like others have said, you are the one that has to ultimately be happy with your choices.
I love QC too! Those colors are gorgeous as well.
I actually LOVE the colors on QV; I think it looks great!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I do love the colors on QV. I'm actually thinking of copying you on them. Both of your pieces look beautiful. Looking forward to your next progress pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh I don't know I think both are quite lovely! BTW I love your Mirabilia as well. Stunning.
ReplyDeleteI really like the colours you've chosen for QV.
ReplyDeleteI think the colours you've chosen for QV are lovely but if they're not speaking to you, it's better to change it now than get halfway through the project. QC looks lovely, too!
ReplyDeleteI think both colorways are beautiful. Like you, I almost always stick to the recommended colors. I'm not adventurous enough to try on my own!
ReplyDeleteLOL I just wrote a post and referenced Scarlett O'Hara too! Weird :)
ReplyDeleteI like the colors on both designs! Soft colors always go well with Quaker motifs! Have you seen the newest issue of The Cross Stitcher. It has some lovely Quaker motifs for notecards!
As always, thanks for sharing your beautiful stitching!
I love the colors; they are so pretty! your tatiana is really GORGEOUS! you are a super fast stitcher!!!
ReplyDeleteThey look fine to me, but I know what you mean when you have an idea in your head of what something should look like and it doesn't turn out quite the same. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the colours you have chosen for both QV and QC!
ReplyDeleteI d'love to stitch it ! You chose great colours !
ReplyDeleteThey are both so pretty. I love the reds you've chosen.
