I ended up starting "This is the Day" over yesterday. Although, I love the original design, when I saw Jan's (scroll down) I really fell in love. She was so kind to list her conversion, so I pulled the floss and got started on it last night while listening to "New Moon" the second book in the Twilight Saga. I'm definitely hooked on the series. Before I listened to them I couldn't understand what all the hype was about, now I know. Anyway, here is a pic of my new start....
I'm using the 40 ct. linen I tea and coffee dyed using Vonna's Basted and Baked Method. I love the color! The only change to Jan's conversion I make is to use WDW Kudzu instead of the Bean Sprout (Thanks for the idea Katrina). Well, I'd better get going. I'm trying to get the house all clean and then I can stitch for the rest of the day and tomorrow! :) Write later!
Looks great Nicole :)
ReplyDeleteI just did a conversion this afternoon, using Victorian Motto threads...I changed quite a bit of the true colors...hope it works!
Enjoy Nicole...don't you just love to get your cleaning out of the way so you can stitch!?? Best feeling in the world! I love your newest start!
ReplyDeleteOH my, Nicole! I am really flattered that you adopted my conversion. I think that Katrina's suggestion of using Kudzu was a good one.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be so pretty, can't wait to see your updates. I plan to return to mine, by the first of the week, really enjoying the stitch. Have to get this house finished cleaning, before I can pick up a needle this evening!
It's a lovely start, Nicole :) I love the way it is looking with your fabric :)
ReplyDeleteJan has always been so good with conversions :) She and KarenV are my go to gals if I need help with any conversions :)
I am going to enjoy watching your progress on this one. It's in my EVER growing pile of future starts :)
Very pretty start! You're a quick stitch there girl!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Nicole!
ReplyDeleteI love it, Nicole! I wish I could start mine, but I'm waiting for my fiber to arrive. :(
ReplyDeleteNicole, looks like you have a good start on this one. I know what you mean my hooked on Twilight. I read all 4 books in like 2 weeks, my husband says I'm obsessed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing this Nicole. I'm glad I wasn't the only one wondering about the colours in the original. I went to Jan's blog to get the full list of conversion. That's what's so great about the stitching blogs!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'll wait a few more days to get the new colours today before I start.
I really like the border. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteGreat start Nicole. I like the conversion you've decided to use on your piece.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to have stitchy friends that are willing to share ideas? I love it...and the Twilight series? I was the same way...didn't' understand the hype until I read them either.
ReplyDeleteLovely fabric and colours on your re-start.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the Twilight expectations. I only gave them a try because my friend lent me the whole series and three months later I thought I better read them or give them back. So I started the first one to try it out and was hooked! I know own the series myself and have pre-ordered the DVD. I'm still tossing up whether to buy a large 'I love Edward' Tshirt to wear as a nightshirt lol!
I love the new colours they look so warm and soft - i love those sort of soft dusky shades.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing. It looks like a lovely design and you have got quite a bit started!

Looking nice~~~~ I like the colors you picked, and the fabric is beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great Nicole. I have to admit that I wrote down the conversion for this also, but was unsure as to what fabric. I like how yours came out with the coffee and tee method, so I think that I'm going to try that also.
ReplyDeleteLove that conversion. It is beautiful! Enjoy your stitching. :)
ReplyDeleteThe colours are wonderful! Great start.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Nicole! I think I may start mine tonight :-).
