I got started on "Beneath the Sunlit Sky" Last night. I'm loving it so far. :)
I had a comment in my last post about when I find the time to stitch. Well, I stitch anytime I can. When my son is napping, while the kids are playing, while we are watching T.V. and at night when they're sleeping (I usually stay up until 10-11 pm). I just find time here and there, I fit it in whenever I can. It's not always easy, but for me it's therapy! It keeps me sane! :)
Well my dh had to go out of town today. He received some sad news yesterday. His cousin's son passed away from cancer. He was only 17. It's just so sad. I can only imagine what his aunt's and cousin's family must be going through. I'm so glad he was able to go up there and be there for them in whatever way he can. Just another reminder of how precious life is and not to take it for granted! Off to hug my kids again! Write later!
Nicole,
ReplyDeleteBtSS looks fantastic so far. I love your colors. Are those the colors called for or your own conversion? If so would you care to share :)
Sorry to hear that sad news my thoughts are with his family that time heals their pain.
Take Care
Natasha

Beneath the Sunlit Sky looks absolutely fabulous!! You are such a speedy stitcher. I can't stitch as fast as you, but I know what you mean about fitting it in anytime you can. Me too. It is a great form of therapy, isn't it? :)
Have a good weekend! Thanks for your compliments on my blog. :)
I had someone once tell me that I needed therapy because i was too busy with hobbies. I told them that my hobbies were my therapy! :) I think that you have to be one to get it :) I'm very sorry for your family loss.

Ack, so sorry to hear the sad news. I find it's especially sad when it happens to the young, before they've had a chance to live life. My condolences.
ReplyDeleteYour Sunlit Skies is looking great. You know, in most designs I've stitched, there's always a point when it drags. Not with this one, the whole thing was a pleasure! I hope you find it so too.
Beautiful start on BSS, Nicole. I enjoyed this one also but those button hole stitches were a first for me. They turned out alright, I think - I know yours will!
ReplyDeleteSuch a sad thing to lose someone so young.....
Will keep your family in thoughts.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty start...I just love this design.
This project is really beautiful so far Nicole. Once again you have inspired me and I am going to have to gett this one. I love it so far too and the colors are beautiful! I got my fabric for the Sarah Tobias needlecase, or at least the Days Gone By Linen I love for it. I ordered some threads from Amy too. I am so sorry about your dh's cousin! Wow he was so young too! Well time to stitch. I am in a Blackbird Design mood too and am working on Small Token.
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry about your family loss.
ReplyDeleteYour BtSS is going to be gorgeous - the colors are so lovely.
Sorry to hear about your husband's cousin. That is so young and tragic. Ironic, because last night I got a call from my dad telling me about my cousin, age 40, who died of a brain tumor and I have to drive 6 hours Tues to his funeral. Life is so short.
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is amazing as always. I agree that it's therapeutic.

ReplyDeleteI'm just finishing BTSS. I'm ending where you are starting - isn't that funny. It's a great stitch.
ReplyDeleteHello, Nicole. I followed a blog to a blog to a blog . . . and found yours. You do lovely work! Back postings will be very fun to read to see what you have been doing before.
ReplyDeleteMy sympathies to your husband's family. My own son, age 18, died of cancer 28 months ago, so I can truly say I can understand. My blog (which I hardly ever update) discusses it a bit, and my husband has made a beautiful website for our son. If it would help at all, please let them know to contact us. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who has walked the same path.
