I just got back from Florida yesterday. It was a quick trip. I left my two older boys with my mom, so I'll be going back down in a couple weeks to get them. I have been stitching a little bit. I started Needleprint's "Mary Wigham." I decided to jump on the bandwagon and join the world's largest SAL! :) Here are a couple of progress pics...
I am using various cotton over-dyes - Crescent Colours, Weeks, and Gentle Arts. The fabric is the 40 ct. Lt. Examplar that I got at Down Sunshine Lane. I also got a little bit of stash while down in Florida. I went down to Golden Needle to meet up with Deb, but her mom was sick, so we missed each other this time. :( I did pick up a few things while there...
I got Shepherd's Bush "Meadow Hill" with the Jill Rensel mats (they were having a 25% off sale if you bought the kit and mat together) and Blackbird Designs "Be Kind and True." I got the Needlepoint Inc. silk at a couple other shops. I needed the silks for a few designs I want to stitch in the future. :)
Well, not much else going on here. Dh and I celebrated our 16th anniversary yesterday, which is why I came home early. We ordered Carrabba's to go - it was so good! I don't know what we have planned today. It's almost too hot here to go anywhere, it's not even noon and it's already 85 degrees. Yuck! Maybe I'll just stay in and stitch - if I can get Matthew to take a nap that is! He's in the throes of the terrible two's right now! Write soon!
Great start on Mary Wigham, Nicole. The colors are beautiful. Fun stash you picked up as well - gotta love a sale! I hope your boys have fun with your Mom. I used to love when my boys were younger and my folks took them for a couple of weeks in the summer. It was a great break for Rob and me and the boys, too! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love your Mary Wigham start Nicole! The colours you've chosen are so pretty - would you mind sharing your choices? I've been downloading this but haven't started it yet - maybe I'll have to break down and put some stitches in!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary too :)
Great start on the MW project, I love the dusty colors you're using. Your stash looks like great future fun and congrats on 16 years. CJ ok;-)

Welcome back, Nicole. You've been missed! Love your new start and your choice of floss colors. You've always had a great eye for color. Have a wonderful time with Matthew while his older brothers are away--even a terrible two knows when he has Mommy all to himself. And what a deal to find a Rensel mat on sale! Good going.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the anniversary!
I love your start on Mary Wigham. I have a funny feeling that this is going to catch me eventually, but I stink at SALS. Love the stash that you picked up and to get them on sale is even better. Hope you have a great weekend celebrating your anniversary! And definitely SAL with us on the Plantation Sampler. It will be fun to see everyone's progress, so think about it and join in. Maybe you'll help keep me on track because I'm so bad at them.
ReplyDeleteAh terrible twos! I remember those! lol! Good luck with the nap! I like how Mary is looking. And nice stash too! That mat is nice -- nice sale! Happy belated anniversary! Ours was the 11th. What a coincidence! :D We're up 10 years on you two- it was our 26th. lol!
ReplyDeleteYour Mary Wigham looks lovely Nicole, i wonder if we can have a picture to share on the Needleprint gallery, please?

ReplyDeleteHappy Late Anniversary to you and Chris! Wow 16 years, that is wonderful! I love your new start! My dh is always wondering why some of the quaker projects only have a couple of colors. This one is really colorful and very pretty! Glad you had a good time in Florida! It has been terribly hot here too. Wish it would cool down a little. It has been in the high 90's here and our AC on the car isn't working UGH. Have a wonderful weekend!!
