I cleaned like a mad woman on Friday so I could relax and stitch on Saturday and Sunday. And that's exactly what I did! I worked on "The Riddle" all weekend. I was stitching along on the grassy area when I realized I didn't have a color that was needed! I double checked the thread list and sure enough it wasn't on it. The color needed was 341, I did have 342 in my stash, so I decided to try it out. I think it turned out ok. It's not as light as the picture, but I think it will be fine.
Even though I didn't have the right color, I had a lot of fun stitching the grass because it's all bargello. I love bargello. Have you all seen Coni's finished bargello canvas work piece? I would love to stitch something like that one day!
For those thinking of stitching this - there is a mistake on the left detail grass pattern - the bottom row is missing. That caused me to frog a couple times. I must have been tired because I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong! :)
Well, nothing else going on here. Just hanging out with the kids - watching Spongebob. :) Write soon!
OH, very pretty Nicole!! Can't wait to see it in person. When will that be btw? ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous Nicole! I particularly like the flower band at the bottom. The colours in this one are just beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteOK, now I have to go get this out of the WIP basket and get back to work on it. Soooo pretty. Wonder if I can even come close to your lovely stitching? (Probably not, but I get points for trying, right?)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the shout out! Don't you think the word "bargello" should be the name of a sorbet flavor?
What gorgeous stitching, Nicole! YGG with the furious cleaning so that you can get a good case of Stitch Ass going on. I often do the same!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYour bargello grass came out beautiful, the color switch works great. I am with you about bargello, it is so fun to stitch. CJ ok;-)
ReplyDeletei think i like the contrast in greens with your lighter color better than the original. wonderful way to spend a weekend.

ReplyDeleteGreat progress on your Riddle. I like the green you used - it looks good.
Oh wow, it's so pretty! I think the green looks great.
ReplyDeleteYou're moving along quickly with this one, though it's not surprising being able to stitch the whole weekend. How wonderful and indulgent. :) It's terrific to get some quality stitching time in. I wasn't familiar with this pattern until I looked at DT website for it. It's quite a large piece. It will be amazing when finished.
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty...I really love this pattern...the colors are all so pretty and I think your green will look just fine.
