I was surfing stitching blogs last night and came across this beautiful sampler stitched by Anne of Tempus Fugit. It's Margaret Havelock 1836 from the Spring 2010 issue of Sampler and Antique Needlework.
I'm loving it! Somehow in just one day my house is completely destroyed again (it may have something to do with those three boys running around), so I'll be having a repeat of yesterday - getting everything clean, so I can relax and stitch. Am I the only one that needs a clean house to stitch?? :) Write soon!
Funny I just saw that one on her blog too :) Yours it fabulous, Fawn is a fantastic color!! I am thrilled to know that you need a clean environment to stitch in too-- dishes done, otherwise, I feel guilty sitting there while chores need to be done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sampler. Nice progress on it too:)))
ReplyDeleteI'm with you -- I've got to have all my chores done before I can stitch.
very gentle and nice sampler! great start!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty whim! Guess there are others, but I'm certainly not one of 'em ~ I'd never get any stitching done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely new start, the colours are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI like this one...Pretty colors. Maybe I'll have to add that to my want to do list.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's why I don't stitch as often as I would like. I can't stitch with a messy house. Feel to guilty, but even though my kids are young adults it always seems dirty, maybe because they are always gone and don't help out much?
Have fun stitching. Go to my blog and see what I am doing.

Beautiful new project! I'm the same way with my cleaning/stitching... I've been known to stitch with a messy house :-) but I enjoy it much more if I've done my cleaning first!
ReplyDeleteoh my that sure is a pretty new start, I love the Fawn fabric. I am the same way, I have to have a clean house to stitch or anything else for that matter. I can never watch a movie or cook if my house is a mess.
ReplyDeleteI am off to clean now so I can stitch for a few hours before dinner needs to be cooked. Have fun stitching on that beautiful sampler!
That's a beautiful sampler and your color choice of fabric is perfect
ReplyDeleteA lovely new project Nicole. I also have to have everything up to date before I can stitch - I guess it's the old guilt thing!
ReplyDeleteNicole that fabric is perfect for this sampler. I get that magazine too. I think I need to get that issue out and take a second look. Your progress is beautiful...can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe it when I read the last line of this post! I can't stand to be stitching while I know there are dishes in the sink or laundry to be done. I will admit I have relaxed a bit on this affliction lately.
I need to have all my chores done before stitching too.
ReplyDeleteI saw that too and really thought it was pretty! I love what you've done so far!
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty sampler and I love the colors. Good choice Nicole.
ReplyDeleteSaw this on the same blog you did. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh this is a gorgeous design!! Always enjoy your stitching progress pics ... make me feel so slow. lol Or maybe it's the testosterone running around my house too. Ha!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful sampler and you got a great start on it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sampler and a great start. I may have to scrounge around and see if I still have that magazine!
ReplyDeleteNicole, this is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely start, what pretty colours! Great going on Shores too.
ReplyDeletebeautiful start!!!! your stitching is always such a delight to the eyes!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous new start! The fabric is perfect.
ReplyDeleteYour start is beautiful, Nicole. I have that issue and after seeing your it on your blog I think it's much prettier than in the magazine.
ReplyDeleteI have to have a tidy room to stitch, too. Even though I don't have three boys to clean up after, it still needs something at the end of the day.
Great new start and Shores is looking gorgeous.
