Ann Grant and a Giveaway

Sometimes I feeling I'm moving one step forward and two steps back. After the Frances Eden debacle I decided to get Ann Grant back out. I worked on it quite a bit over the weekend and then yesterday I realized I was a stitch off! I felt like crying and I felt like quitting! But I didn't do either. I just picked up my needle and started frogging. I'm back on track now and I love how it's looking!

Ann Grant progress as of 3/20/11
40 Summer Khaki over-dyed with Tan Rit Dye, various silk threads (1 over 2)

Now on to the giveaway part! Merumo is hosting a wonderful giveaway to help the people of Japan. I think it's such a great idea for such a worthy cause! My thoughts and prayers go out to all the people in Japan who are suffering right now. I just can't even imagine what they are going through. It definitely makes my problems seem very small and trivial!!

  1. How frustrating! I could imagine wanting to just throw it all in, on top of the issues you had with Frances Eden. I'm glad you didn't though - I think this one is going to be lovely - I love the colors of the flowers in the border.

  5. She's looking great, Nicole! Glad it was a somewhat simple matter of frogging and not something worse. I forgot to mention Merumo's giveaway on my blog -- I should have done that.

  8. It's hateful to have to frog but your Ann G looks wonderful. The border is just so pretty. Hopefully now you won't have any other issues and your needle will fly along nicely.

  11. I've had more trouble with the piece I stitched for our retreat than any other piece I have ever stitched and it is not a difficult stitch! It drove me nuts! Thankfully I am done with the stitching now and just need to do the finishing. Hopefully you have it out of your system and it will be smooth sailing all the way!
