A New Start

I was feeling like I was getting ready to fall into a slump and the only way I know to avoid a slump is to start something new. So I did!

I decided to start "Elizabeth Sheffield" by The Scarlet Letter. I splurged on the kit from The Attic several months ago, but I had just been admiring the threads, instead of using them. Well, the other day I started using them! :)  I actually decided to use 32 ct. instead of 40 ct. because of all the over one in the sampler.

Elizabeth Sheffield
32 ct. Vintage Examplar by Lakeside Linens, Belle Soie and Dinky Dyes silks (1 over 2).

I also worked on Rubie Owl's Sampler a little bit...

Rubie Owl
40 ct. Vintage Sand Dune, Belle Soie and NPI silks (1 over 2).

And I picked up an old UFO from last year.  I'd like to get it finished before Halloween...

40 ct. Vintage Pearled Barley, GAST (1 over 2).

It's Jenny Bean's Halloween Sampler.  I really don't have too much to go on it.

Well, I just booked my room for the Pals convention in Myrtle Beach in a little over two weeks.  I'm so excited to get away and stitch.  It's going to be a blast! :)

  6. The colors look fantastic for Elizabeth! I think that will definitely get you out of a slump. And good going on the 32 count. Mine's on 40 and I think I took about 100 stitches in it before I put it down upset because it's on 40 and there is a lot of over one!

Your WIPs are looking great too!

  9. Elizabeth, I really like your way of thinking. I will have to remember that the next time I feel a stitching slump coming on. Really like the new sampler pick...not familiar with that chart.
Have a great time at your retreat coming up. That will surely get you out of any potential slump that may be trying to hang on.

  14. Great start on Elizabeth, Nicole! We can all go blind together! LoL! I'm having to take a wee break..I really have a headache from the over-one stitching...not to mention I had to remove a lot of work on one side. Grrrr..maybe THAT is why I have a headache. :) Your Ruby Owl is looking beautiful!

  25. Pretty way to get out of your slump! Good idea to go with the 32 count, too.

How pretty your Rubie Owl is, Nicole. It would like nice paired with Bird in the Bower (didn't you stitch it, too?).

Seeing your Jenny Bean's Halloween reminded me that mine is not finished either so maybe I'll work on it.
