And this is where I'm at now...
40 ct. Vintage Meadow Rue, NPI silks (1 over 2)
I also worked on Christmas Garden a little bit...
40 ct. Vintage Lt. Examplar, CC and GAST (1 over 2)
I'm almost finished with the border. It really is such a fun sampler to stitch.
Another sampler I've wanted to stitch for a long time is Shakespeare's Peddler's "Spanish Mystery Sampler." I decided to kit it up after seeing Natalia's beautiful finish!
Not sure when I'll get to it, but I love it! Well, I'd better get going - I have a date with the copier at my son's school. :)
both samplers are lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I so need to stitch both of those. Soooo pretty!!! I'm glad you got Elizabeth Mears back out. :D
ReplyDeleteNice progress on both!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, seeing your Elizabeth Mears reminded that I bought that chart last year and I think I kitted it up too. Not good. I guess I better look for it because yours is looking wonderful. You really made a lot of progress on the castle.
ReplyDeleteI had a tiny start on Elizabeth Mears but then put it down - I was doing the Spanish SAL with the Attic last year - started off with a bang but then got distracted - I will say it is a fun stitch but doing those LOOONG bands of the same thing over and over can be tedious. It is a good project for mindless stitching so hope you will enjoy it. Melody
ReplyDeleteElizabeth is so pretty... but yikes, what a big castle. Your CG looks wonderful and I'm looking forward to your start on the Spanish sampler one of these days.
ReplyDeleteBoth samplers are looking great! I love seeing the before and after pic!
ReplyDeleteElizabeth is looking lovely - but I can see what you meant about that castle - it is HUGE! Look forward to seeing your Spanish Mystery :) The threads you've chosen look lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stitching and colors! Love seeing your gorgeous work! Have fun copying! :-) Mere

ReplyDeleteYou really are moving on both of your samplers! They are both fabulous. I like how you changed the "Christmas Garden" to an alphabet, like Katrina. I am thinking of doing that as well.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more.
The first sampler is gorgeous! But stitching that white/offwhite section (of which there is alot) would send me over the edge! I can never make white or off white (or any really light colored) thread look right. Altho it could be the close up lenses eye glasses I use which shows every imperfection - LOL! When I hold my work at a distance, it looks great! The second one - I'd say you got more than "a little bit more" done! You are really tempting me into getting this one too!

Mmmmm, Elizabeth is gorgeous and I just love that castle but can imagine how tedious it is to work on. Great progress on the Christmas Sampler, too - love the alphabet at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteElizabeth is gorgeous and you have made a ton of progress. Love how Christmas Garden is coming along too - so pretty. And I'm in love with Spanish Sampler - I need to get this one for sure!
ReplyDeleteWell you really made some progress on that castle, congrats. The BBD design is lovely. HAPPY STITCHING CJINPK ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat castle is massive!! Great progress on both pieces!!
ReplyDeleteI have Elizabeth Mears to do. Seeing yours makes me want to finish up on my VoHRH and get to her!

ReplyDeleteThis really is such a pretty sampler and I think that yours will be beautiful! I would probably feel like you too though in thinking it is a huge huge house. I will enjoy seeing your progress.
ReplyDeleteooooo well done on all the stitching you've got done and like the colours on the new one you have kitted up ... must look that one up :) love mouse xxxxx
ReplyDeleteBoth samplers are beautiful. I must say that castle is huge. I love the SP sampler. I may have to get it.
ReplyDeleteYour samplers are gorgeous. Love that Elizabeth Mears, I had never seen that one before. I love anything with flowers. And what a fantastic new choice, the Spanish Mystery Sampler is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWonderful castle building! I love CG more every time I see progress photos... and your shades look so lovely to me! Hope you had fun with the copier ;-) I had such a fun time Saturday - it was great being with y'all.
ReplyDeleteYou and I have the exact same tastes, I'm convinced! I was eyeing Elizabeth Mears recently and went for Sarah Elizabeth Brooke, but as I watch you work on this one she might move up a place or two ;) I will enjoy watching you stitch this one!
ReplyDeleteBoth pieces are beautiful, Nicole. And Natalia's Spanish sampler is absolutely gorgeous, so I can totally understand wanting to stitch it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful progress! I love the flower garden on the bottom of Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects Nicole!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work, Nicole! I agree with you about Katrina's alphabet for Christmas Garden.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on both your projects Nicole! That castle on Elizabeth is a monster! Keep plugging away and you'll be done in no time.
ReplyDeleteNicole, your pictures are always so beautiful !! I love, love, love Elizabeth Mears.... I don't think I had seen it before, and now, I am afraid it is a must for me. Yikes !! So glad you got the Spanish Mystery Sampler all kitted up, it really is fun to stitch
